Almajdouie Logistics – GEFCO wins Bespoke Logistics Project of the Year at Logistics Middle East Awards 2019
Almajdouie Logistics – GEFCO, the first integrated Finished Vehicle Logistics (FVL) Company in Saudi Arabia, was honoured with “The Bespoke Logistics Project of the Year Award” at Logistics Middle East Awards 2019. Senior representatives from leading logistics companies across the region attended the award ceremony, which took place in Dubai, UAE. Hosted by ITP Media Group’s Logistics Middle East publication, the annual event celebrates excellence in the supply chain.
The joint venture brings together two powerhouse companies, GEFCO, the leader in Europe for finished vehicle logistics, and Almajdouie Logistics, a leading integrated supply chain provider in the Middle East. The relationship between the companies began in January 2018 when they partnered to provide FVL services to Almajdouie Automotive, the importer of Hyundai and Changan in Saudi Arabia.
Almajdouie Logistics Chief Executive Officer Baheej Al Biqawi said: “From the very beginning of this partnership, I believed we could achieve great things together and make a real difference to the Kingdom’s automotive logistics sector. I can confidently say we have achieved that goal, creating a company that can cater to customers’ previously underserved requirements. This achievement would not have been possible without the dedicated efforts of our entire team and the valued support of our stakeholders and clients.”
GEFCO Managing Director Stefano Pollotti said: “The unique partnership between GEFCO and Almajdouie Logistics, which combines our competitive strengths and expertise, is the key to the success of the operation. While all vehicle importers have in-house departments for FVL activities, some outsource their transportation and customs clearance requirements. Almajdouie Logistics -GEFCO is the only company that handles the entire supply chain, which enables us to provide cost-effective solutions that result in shorter lead times and increased operational efficiency.”
Almajdouie Logistics GEFCO’s comprehensive solutions range from the supply of components to the distribution of new vehicles and spare parts. The company also provides a range of value-added services and inbound logistics services, including supplier component collection, reusable packaging, warehousing, and delivery to site.
Outbound logistics services include transportation to a compound or direct delivery to dealers, storage and maintenance, preparation and customisation (Post Production Operations and Pre Delivery Inspection), and delivery to distributors. Accessories and spare parts logistics services include delivery from suppliers to distribution centres, stock management, deconsolidation / consolidation, distribution to point of sale, and return management. The company also offers customs clearance services.
